CFISD Schools Excel in TEA Ratings

Every single permitted campus in CFISD (Cypress-Fairbanks ISD) qualified for a rating of Met Standard in the TEA (Texas Education Agency). Districts could either be entitled to a “Met Standard” or “Improvement Required” rating. On the ‘Cypress Creek Mirror- August 13, 2014’ article, the passages report that the district scored an 84 in Index 1, Student Achievement; 42 in Index 2, Student Progress; 44 in Index 3, Closing Performance Gaps; and 72 in Index 4; Postsecondary Readiness. Below are more in depth descriptions of the Indexes.

Index 1– Student Achievement: Overall performance of all qualified subjects and satisfactory performance standard. (Target Score- 55)

Index 2– Student Progress: Looks at scores of 10 student groups, ethnic groups, and English-language learners most often meet or excel in this standard.

Index 3- Closing Performance Gaps: Covers scores of economically disadvantaged students and if possible, the campus’ or district’s 2 lowest performing ethnic groups from the school year before.

Index 4- Postsecondary Readiness: All levels are assessed on the STAAR Component of percentages that meet the final level 2 standard on 2 or more tests. Also, many high schools are also assessed on graduation rate and future plans for college-ready graduates.

Every possible campus in the CFISD School District outstandingly achieved a ‘Met Standard’ rating. This school district has qualified for many achievements including earning Academic Achievement in Reading/ELA and Math. In addition, earned the Top 25 Percentage in Student Progress. Overall, the CFISD School District has achieved many superb ratings and standards academically.
